About CLITrader.com
We are an independent editorial site dedicated to the emerging practice of terminal-first, AI-augmented trading.
Our Mission
CLITrader.com exists to define, document, and develop the category of CLI Trading — the practice of using command-line interfaces, AI agents, Model Context Protocol servers, and reusable Skills to research, analyze, and execute trades across any financial market.
We believe the convergence of powerful LLMs, the MCP standard, and mature CLI tooling for financial data represents a genuine structural shift in how individual traders can compete. Our mission is to map that shift: which tools work, which don't, how to build effective workflows, and what the philosophy underlying it all means for the future of retail trading.
Who Runs This Site
CLITrader.com is run by traders and technologists who use the stack we cover. We are not affiliated with any brokerage, data vendor, or AI company. We have no financial interest in the tools we list unless explicitly disclosed in a specific review.
Our editorial team has backgrounds in quantitative trading, software engineering, and financial journalism. We have traded equities, options, futures, and crypto — all of which appear in our tool coverage.
Editorial Standards
Independence
All tool listings, reviews, and comparisons are conducted independently. We do not accept payment for favorable coverage. If a tool sponsor relationship exists, it will be prominently disclosed at the top of the relevant content.
Testing methodology
We test every tool we feature in an actual agent workflow before publishing. "Agent-friendly" is our highest accolade — it means an AI agent can use the tool reliably without hallucinating flags, misreading output formats, or requiring excessive prompt engineering to operate.
Accuracy and dates
Every tool page carries a "Last Verified" date. The CLI and MCP ecosystem moves quickly; we update pages when we detect significant changes. If you find outdated information, please contact us.
Financial content
We cover trading tools and strategies. Nothing on this site is financial advice. We apply YMYL (Your Money, Your Life) standards to all financial content: claims are sourced, risk disclosures are prominent, and we do not make price predictions or recommend specific trades.
YMYL Trust Signals
This site covers financial topics that can materially affect your financial well-being. We take that responsibility seriously:
- All quantitative claims are sourced to primary data
- Risk disclosures appear on every tool page and article involving trade execution
- We do not publish content we cannot verify through direct testing or primary sources
- Author credentials are disclosed on bylined content
- We maintain a corrections policy: factual errors are corrected with a dated note
- We comply with FTC guidelines on material connections and endorsements
What We Are Not
We are not a brokerage, investment advisor, or fund. We do not execute trades on behalf of users. We do not provide personalized investment advice. The tools and strategies we discuss are for educational and informational purposes.
We are not affiliated with Anthropic (creator of Claude and the MCP standard), though we cover their technologies extensively because they are central to the CLI Trading ecosystem.
Corrections and Contact
If you find a factual error, an outdated tool listing, or a broken link, we want to know. Contact us through the form below or email editorial [at] clitrader.com. We aim to respond within 48 hours and publish corrections within 72 hours of verification.
